Yes, he may perform the prostrations one after the other whilst sitting. Qiyām (standing) before and after prostration is mustahabb (commendable); doing it is good and leaving it out is not a sin. Takbīr اَللہُ اَکْبَرْ while going into and getting up from prostration is not to be left out as doing so would be against the way of the Salaf (pious predecessors).
It is mentioned in Bahār-e-Sharī’at that the prescribed method of the prostration of recitation is as follows: Go into prostration from standing whilst saying اَللہُ اَکْبَرْ. Recite سُبْحٰنَ رَبِّیَ الْاَعْلٰی at least three times during the prostration. Then stand up whilst saying اَللہُ اَکْبَرْ. Reciting اَللہُ اَکْبَرْ whilst going into and standing up from prostration is Sunnah. Qiyām before and after prostration is mustahabb. (‘Ālamgīrī, Durr Mukhtār, etc.) If one does not stand before and after the prostration, or does not say اَللہُ اَکْبَرْ, or does not recite سُبْحٰنَ اللہ, then the prostration is valid. However, the Takbīr should not be left out as doing so would be against the way of the Salaf (pious predecessors).
