It is impermissible and harām for a woman to enter a Masjid in the state of menstruation (hayd), even if it be for the purpose of attending a Mawlid gathering as is mentioned in al-Durr al-Mukhtār,

“Entering a masjid becomes prohibited in the state of major ritual impurity (al-hadath al-akbar), even if it be for passing through a Masjid.”

[al-Durr al-Mukhtār with Radd al-Muhtār, vol 1, pg 493]

There is a Hadīth regarding this issue which Allāmah al-Shāmī has put forward as evidence. It is related from Sayyidah ‘A’ishah (may Allāh be pleased with her) that,

“The Messenger of Allāh  came and the doorways of the homes of the companions (may Allāh be pleased with them all) were opening upon the Masjid, so he  said, ‘Turn the faces of these homes away from the Masjid.’ Then the Prophet  entered [either the Masjid or the homes of the companions] and the people had not made any change; hopeful that permission would descend in the revelation. Then when the Messenger  came to them again, he  said, ‘Turn the faces of these homes away from the Masjid, for I do not permit the Masjid upon a menstruating woman or a person in major ritual impurity (junbī).’”
