Absolutely! It is necessary for you to make up those fasts, and it is not permissible to pay fidyah in lieu of them. The ruling of paying fidyah is for the extremely old person (shaykh faani), and not for the woman experiencing menstruation or post natal bleeding; it is necessary for such a woman to make up her fasts; just as it is stated in Sahih Muslim, as reported by Sayyidah ‘Aishah (Allah be well pleased with her), she stated:
‘When we would experience menstruation then we were commanded to make up the fasts but we were not commanded to make up the prayers.’
