QUESTION:
What do the scholars of the Din and muftis of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: Can I send Islamic messages to a non-mahram woman? I fear that if I do not send her such messages, she will remain ignorant.
Questioner: A brother from UK
ANSWER:
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب
It is permissible to send Islamic messages, which have been certified by Islamic scholars and jurists, to a non-mahram woman. However, the man must not send it himself, rather he should ask his sister, wife or any mahram woman to send it to her. A man sending a message to a non-mahram woman is not free from tribulation. It is not good to destroy oneself for the sake of protecting someone else from ignorance. Exchange of messages can increase the informality between two people and a man and a woman being informal with each other can have dangerous results.
