QUESTION:
I am a resident of India. I have a question, please answer me as soon as possible. There is a guy, who is born in a Muslim family. He did not go to any Islamic institution, he doesn’t know anything about Islam. He doesn’t even remember the Kalima and Durood also. So can we consider him as a Muslim? Is he into Islam? Can we give our daughter or sister in nikah to this person? Please answer me as soon as possible.
ANSWER:
If you have such grave concerns over the Iman of this particular individual then he is clearly not suitable for your daughter or sister in marriage. If the individual in question is completely ignorant of basic matters of Aqaaid then he should be spoken to and the fundamental beliefs of Islam should be taught to him, in sha Allah in that is great reward.
