QUESTION:

Can a woman read the dalayl al khayrat during her monthly cycle?

ANSWER:

Women are not allowed to recite the Qur’an during their menstruation cycle. This means anything other than the Holy Qur’an can be recited in this period be it dhikr, adhkaar, wadhaif, durood shareef or Dalail ul Khairat.

Imam Tahtawi (رحمة الله عليه) writes, “It is prohibited to recite any ayah from the Qur’an (except with the intention of dhikr). If there is thana or du’a present in the ayah, then it is permissible to recite as per the most correct riwayah (view).”
