QUESTION:

What do the scholars of the Dīn and muftīs of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: I pray salāh on a prayer mat and have recently come to know that it mentions the name of Allāh Almighty where I usually stand. Is this a sin for me and what should I do with this prayer mat?

Questioner: Brother from UK

ANSWER:

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب

You will not be sinful for such because this occurred without you knowing. Anyway, you should cut out the area which has the name of Allāh Almighty written on it and place it in a respectful place, and after this, you may use the prayer mat.
