QUESTION:
What do the scholars of the Din and muftis of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: Can we eat Halāl food from a restaurant which serves alcohol? We would only be eating the Halāl food from there.
Questioner: Ilyas from England
ANSWER:
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب
It is permissible to order Halāl food from such restaurants, however, it is better to be cautious & weary in such matters because if the one selling alcohol does not fear Allāh Almighty, then they will not fear serving something Harām as Halāl either. Moreover, this is extremely common in countries such as the likes of the U.K. as every restaurant claims that its food is Halāl, however they themselves have no clue at all whatsoever in the slightest as to whether the food [they are serving] is Halāl or not.
