A woman on her menstrual period during Ramadan has the authority to eat and drink either openly or secretly. It is not necessary for her to behave like the one who is fasting. However, eating secretly is better.

It is mentioned in Jawharah that,

“Should a woman in her menstrual or postpartum period eat openly or secretly? It was said that she should eat openly because it is not compulsory for her to imitate those who are fasting.”

[al-Jawharah al-Nayyirah, pg. 186]

It is mentioned in Bahār-e-Sharī’at that a woman on her menstrual or post-partum period has the authority to eat and drink either openly or secretly. It is not necessary for her to behave like the one who is fasting. However, eating secretly is better, especially for a woman on her menstrual period.
