QUESTION:
What do the scholars and muftīs of the mighty Sharī’ah say regarding this matter: Is writing the sacred name of the Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) on the image of the blessed sandal [na’l] permissible and is drawing the green dome on it disrespectful?

ANSWER:
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب
Writing the Blessed Name or drawing the Green Dome on an image of the na’l is not disrespectful and neither is it impermissible because the reflection or drawing of a thing is not in the same ruling as the actual thing itself.
Muftī Waqār-ud-Dīn mentions in his Fatāwā collection ‘Waqār al-Fatāwā’, answering a similar question, that this type of image is not the actual na’l itself, therefore there is no harm in writing the Blessed Name upon it.
