QUESTION:

What do the scholars of the Din and muftis of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: If there is such a fruit which has the name of Allah written/engraved upon it, how should we treat it, as pictures/images of these types of fruit are regularly sent on social media, so if one has any doubt regarding these fruits, it’s not a bad thing is it?

Questioner: Ahsan from UK

ANSWER:

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب

If any fruit or anything other than that has the blessed name of Allah written upon it then we should have the utmost respect and reverence for it, to eat it considering it as a blessing is permissible as well.

However, nowadays there are such people who with their own hands write/engrave the name of Allah upon fruit or any such thing (meaning it is not naturally engraved with the name of Allah upon it) by doing this deceiving the general public and they apparently claim that this was naturally engraved,

To do this is strictly impermissible as this classifies as lying and lying is a major sin.

And there is no harm to have doubts regarding these such fruits as having certainty/firm belief is not necessary.
