QUESTION:
What do the scholars of the Din and muftis of the Sacred Law state regarding the following issue: Heart doctors prescribe their patients to place a tablet under their tongue – does this invalidate one’s fast?
Questioner: Brother from UK
ANSWER:
بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
الجواب بعون الملک الوھاب اللھم ھدایۃ الحق والصواب
Placing a tablet underneath one’s tongue will only invalidate a fast in the case of a particle of it entering the throat, thus one should avoid placing it in such said place [as it will be impossible to prevent the tablet particles entering the throat].
[Please note that if the tablet dissolves and enters the throat with your saliva then the Fast will still break.]
