QUESTION:

Please explain and clear up why Imam Ahmed Raza mentions Krishna the Hindu God to be present in many places.

ANSWER:

Imam Ahmad Rida Khan (رحمة الله عليه) has not written that the Hindu God Krishna can be present at many places, in fact he actually copied the passage from a book called ‘Sab’a Sanabil’ in which Hazrat Meer Abdul Wahid Bilgrami has written about Shaykh Abul Fatah Jaunpuri, who was invited for Mawlid gatherings by 10 people after the Dhuhr prayers, he accepted all the invitations.

When people asked him how will he be able to be present at 10 places at the same time, he said, “When Krishna being a kafir (disbeliever) can be present in many hundred places, why can’t I be present at 10 places?”.

Shaykh Abul Fatah Jaunpuri didn’t mean to praise Krishna rather he refuted him by saying that when Krishna (being a Kafir) can be present at many places at one time (as famously reported in India), why can’t he himself be present at 10 places being a Muslim?

Another example we can give to show the reasoning behind what was said is if someone asks how can the Prophet Musa’s (عليه السلام) stick turn into a snake? We will reply, when a disbelieving magician who came to compete with the Prophet Musa (عليه السلام) by turning his stick into a snake, why can’t he do the same?

In fact Imam Ahmad Rida Khan (رحمة الله عليه) writes in same fatwa that Ram and Krishna are not mentioned anywhere in the Qur’an or Ahadith . We just came to know about them from Hindus and we don’t even know if they were real. If this information from Hindus is not acceptable then their reality is not proved. And if the information is accepted we find them fasiq and fajir and involved in games and useless activities. So how can we (Allah forbid) consider them to be Prophets?
