QUESTION:

My mum and dad are separated and I haven’t had contact with my dad for a year, yet I had a dream that he was in my room rearranging pillows on my bed, is there an explanation for this? I’ve had another dream on more than one occasion where I’m sleeping but something is whispering in my ears to stop reading du’a as it will not affect whatever is speaking to me, when I woke up I was reading du’a and Allah’s name out loud.

ANSWER:

Your father will make up with you and your family, and especially with his children, and Allah knows best.

The second type of dream should be ignored.

Abu Qatada (Allah be well pleased with him) said “I too, used to see a dream which would make me sick till I heard the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) saying, “A good dream is from Allah, so if anyone of you saw a dream which he liked, he should not tell it to anybody except to the one whom he loves, and if he saw a dream which he disliked, then he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil and from the evil of Satan, and spit three times (on his left) and should not tell it to anybody, for it will not harm him.”

Allah knows best.
